Valentine Math and Literacy
Valentine addition with us as the manipulatives.
Independent practice
We read I Love You! by Deanna Jump and then played "Bee the Word" by putting the sentences from the book in order.
We worked in math stations...
...while friends passed out their Valentines.
Then we sorted, graphed and added our Valentines.

Valentine's Day 2010!
We had a lot of fun learning about Valentine's Day! We learned about symbols of Valentine's Day: hearts, cupid, roses, etc. We also read Clifford's First Valentine's Day and made Clifford using a Valentine symbol-hearts! We sorted Conversation Hearts by colors and then we used our hearts to make a real object graph. We describe the results of our graph to our table using comparative language (more, less, same as).
