We read The Wind Blew by Pat Hutchins. We created symmetrical kites. We also talked about how our kites were divided into equal parts.

Butterflies

We spent the first part of the week learning about insects in general and the last part of the week specifically about butterflies! During shared reading, we read a big book Katy Grows Up about a caterpillar who asks her animal friends what she will be when she grows up. We learned about Right there Questions-questions that the answer tells us in the story and Schema questions-questions where we have to use our schema (what we already know) and the story to answer the question.
